Being a successful leadership and coaching consultant, Jeffery Whippo believes that various scholars and practitioners have worked to better understand what differentiates successful from unsuccessful leadership. Various approaches have been taken into account that has resulted in frameworks and models.

Jeffery indicates that the commonly used measures to rate successful and unsuccessful leaders include rating superior’s effectiveness and performance ratings.

Another measure includes subordinates ratings of their job satisfaction and morale of their leader’s effectiveness. There are advantages in that the ratings are subject to the leaders’ behaviors and multiple raters are used so scores are averaged out to a mean performance rating. However, Jeffery D Whippo states that the disadvantage related to it includes the fact that some subordinates may simply not be motivated and there may be inherent biases with some subordinates that don’t precisely reflect the leader’s behaviors.

Pertaining to Jeffery Whippo, he is a professional educator and developer of people, teams, and leaders. He also worked as a Combat Intelligence Specialist for the USAF for almost 4 years. He contributes to a number of charitable causes including The Jimmy Fund, Junior Diabetes, Goodwill, and American Veterans. In addition, Jeffery is a veteran member of VFW.
